The waste generated in activities during the summer often ends up abandoned.The implementation of selective collection in different tourist points allows citizens to continue with the waste classification habits of the rest of the yearRecycling at home has become the most widespread environmental habit in Spain.Four out of five citizens (83%) state that they have three different bins or spaces at home to separate waste.In order to prolong environmental awareness during the holiday period, in recent years the evolution of tourism and major events are ensuring that holiday locations are better prepared to offer the possibility of efficient selective collection.In this way, citizens can extend their waste recycling habits also during the summer season when traveling during the holidays.There are more and more spaces, such as amusement parks or music festivals, that integrate not only garbage collection but also the possibility of doing it selectively in order to reuse packaging.Between 2,500 and 3,000 kilos can be collected at the big summer musical events, depending on the number of people who attend.That is why it is so important that the organizing companies have a waste management plan and ensure correct collection and recycling.In addition, the assistants play a fundamental role facilitating the task and using the different containers and recycling points.In this work, companies such as EcoEvent, a Valencian cooperative specialized in the management and sustainable production of events, accompany the organizers.This consultancy currently advises some 25 festivals, such as Cruïlla in Barcelona or FIB in Benicàssim."At EcoEvent we are firmly convinced that the event production and organization sector must evolve and innovate in order to be actively involved in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda," they explain from the Levantine company.Similarly, in recent years the RECICLOS machines, Ecoembes' Return and Reward system (SDR), have been deployed in some of the busiest places in the national territory - such as parks, stations or shopping centers - and allow any citizen separate packaging and receive sustainable and environmental incentives for doing so.Users who visit Madrid's parks, such as Parque de Atracciones, Faunia, Zoo Aquarium and Parque Warner have the possibility of obtaining points for sustainable and social initiatives by depositing their cans and plastic bottles of drinks in one of the five machines installed ."At the Madrid Amusement Park we are committed to protecting the environment and recycling, in a natural environment like the one in which we are located, at Casa de Campo," explains Arantxa Orusco, Director of Communications at the Madrid Amusement Park."That's why with Reciclos, our visitors will help contribute to the process of recycling cans and plastic bottles in the park."The summer towns that receive the most visitors in the summer months face a particular challenge, as their population multiplies compared to the rest of the year.In this sense, beaches are a particularly delicate scenario to manage, since it is especially critical that waste does not end up in the sea.According to an initiative to control and monitor marine litter on the beaches of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, carried out by the Red Cross in collaboration with the LIBERA project (by SEO/BirdLife in alliance with Ecoembes) and the Ministry of Ecological Transition, plastics they are the majority component of waste (57% of the total), followed by cigarette butts (27%).That is why different city councils, such as the one in Tenerife, have installed buckets in the sand of beaches such as Las Teresitas for the collection of different types of waste.From the City Council, they explain that a daily cleaning service is ensured that is responsible for the maintenance of the beaches of the municipality, a service that is reinforced from June to September, in which there is a greater influx of users.Because outdoor plans are synonymous with good weather, with visits to beaches and mountains or picnics.This may imply an increase in garbage in these spaces.The LIBERA project multiplies initiatives to raise awareness and mobilize citizens and keep natural spaces free of waste.In particular, they have developed the Basuraleza application, in collaboration with the Clean Landscape and Zero Waste association and LIBERA, which not only teaches where to correctly recycle waste and record what you collect, but also offers incentives as challenges are met. .The recycling of the future.Series on Circular Economy carried out in collaboration with Ecoembes.Conforms to The Trust Project criteriaThe director of El Mundo selects the most interesting news for you.There are no comments yet.Be the first to give your opinion...
